About MCSAA

Our Mission Statement: To enhance the quality of life of senior adults in our community through recreation, information, education and nutritional services, including health and wellness programs.

Our Facility: The Mason County Senior Activities Association is a five thousand square foot facility open to adults @ 50+, living in Mason County. We are located in downtown Shelton, WA. at 826 Railroad Ave. Individuals and groups take part in programs, activities and services which support their independence and encourage their involvement in the community.

Special Needs: The Center does not provide services that would normally be provided by a trained attendant, nurse or personal care giver (i.e. incontinence, inability to use the restroom by one's self, or preventing the participant from leaving the grounds of The Center). The provision of any personal care by staff for a participant is beyond our capacity and cannot be expected. Those seniors with special needs may be eligible for the Adult Day Center program, STARS at 360-943-6181 for further information.

Hours: We are open from 8am to 4pm Monday through Thursday and 8am to 3pm Fridays. The Center is closed on national holidays; see the Activity Calendar for details. Our Center is staffed by loyal volunteers who serve as receptionists at the front desk.

Community Services: MCSAA operates a number of services supporting our mission.

Membership: Membership is open to anyone @ 50plus. Member dues are just $12 per year. Our fiscal calendar runs January through December. Membership entitles you to participate in all the activities, classes and special events available at The Center. As a member, you are eligible to vote in the annual election of officers and directors. You also get The Center's newsletter, "Senior Moments," mailed to you at home.  There are three types of membership applications. Click on your type of membership to download an application.: New membership, Renewal, and Corporate.

Nifty Thrifty Store: The Nifty Thrifty Store assists in helping build, maintain and support the ongoing expenses of The Center. Nifty Thrifty is the major source of revenue supporting The Center's operations.

Nifty Thrifty is our funding arm that has kept us solvent for over 18 years.

Organization: MCSAA is organized as a 501(c) non-profit charitable organization. Donations are tax deductible. The organization's by-laws are available at the center.

Crafts Boutique: Located in the lobby of The Center, the Crafts Boutique sells unique articles, handmade by our own Mason County senior crafters. The offerings include a large variety of items ranging from everyday practical to the wonderfully imaginative gifts. Their handwork includes sewnn, crocheted, knitted and quilted pieces. These are some of the most under priced handmade goods in a five County area. Visitors of all ages are welcome. Come and enjoy the friendly relaxed atmosphere, and help to fund MCSAA.

Weather Policy: When inclement weather hits our area, KMAS Radio (1030 AM) announces any adjusted hours. MCSAA generally follows the Shelton School District's schedule. If they close, we close; if hey have a delayed start, we will too.
